Cost isn't as important as efficiency and ease of use/administration, although, cost is considered when 2 choices are nearly identicalĪrchiving isn't for compliance yet, at this time, we're all about getting the email out of the exchange email boxes off our fast expensive discs (15k SAS SAN), and off onto less expensive discs, and out of the hands of the staff (i.e. Retention is nice (years, maybe 7 years or more we're an oil company and have engineering documents) I want the solution to have the ability to be backed up redundantly (using my veeam, or backup exec softwares) I want the searches to be relatively quick (I realize this is usually disk speed determined, however, I want to ensure whatever system we choose, it can handle hundreds of users in excess of 500, 100 to start with) I want it simple for the staff, they can see their archives in iPhone, BB, Android, OWA, and Outlook in a similar fashion, and be able to search from all those places as well
